  list as an accomplishment on a resume, "i escaped from a mind control doomsday cult?".

  sometimes when i reflect on it, the magnitude of this accomplishment amazes me..

  okay, so at the "imitate their faith" ca there was a special speaker from the gb.

  and he started discussing psalms 1:1 and how we today could "sit in the seat of scoffers".

  he then mentioned that many bros. and sisters criticize the org and think they are so smart by researching online.

  on the one hand , if their is a disaster , a natural occurrence such as an earthquake , tsunami , tornadoes etc, the witness armageddon barometer kicks in .many fence sitters , relatives etc.

  It will continue to change as time goes on.

  A resurrected JW from the 70s/80s/early 90s would not recognize what the WTBTS is today. It's evolving even too quickly for me these days!

  Today's JW might not recognize what it'll become by the 2040s come around.

  Same with all other faiths.

  Finding time

  is it possible to full time pioneer while working a full time job without making up the hours?

  i know of a brother who recently got married too a pioneer the guy was really desperate to get married because his wife despite her many 'spiritual credentials' has very few christ-like qualities unfortunately, anyway that's besides the point.

  he is a pioneer now and i'm sure he will be a ms soon the organisation likes that type of stuff the 'pioneer couple' so it shouldn't come as a surprise.

  Honestly speaking, if a person works full time there's no way he/she can be full time (regular) pioneer. He/she lies on her monthly time report all the time.

  With all the extra JW stuff we have to comply with (weekly meetings, meeting preparation, more so when one has a part in it, keeping up with JW Broadcast crap, family worship evening, personal study), and lets not forget time much needed to have fun and relax. If one complies with all that required JW stuff, there's no way a normal/rational person can put in more than like 15 hours monthly into this time-wasting effort of preaching.

  Monthly time reporting makes liars of ALL JWs. I'm sure the GB knows this well, as usual, just doesn't care.

  Oh my, I've answered this same expression a couple of different times in the past. Here's been my comebacks:

  • Humans' actions will in no way, shape or form affect Jehovah's glory and purpose.
  • The Bible clearly states that we're mere dust, insignificant grasshoppers, and nothing we do will in anyway affect Jehovah. A person must pay for their transgressions, thus says Galatians 6:7.

  However, this kind of reply will for sure put a 'mark' in the person; from that point forward, one will be viewed as 'bad association', 'spiritually weak', or having a conscience not 'trained properly'.

  Proceed carefully.

  a jehovah’s witness elder who sexually assaulted two vulnerable teenagers he met through the church was sentenced to three years jail yesterday over the “destructive” abuse.. david frank pople, 68, met the boys through the safety bay congregation of the church and assaulted them between 1989 and 1996.. one of the teens reported the sexual assaults to elders in 1997 but police were not made aware of the abuse until he filed a police report in 2014.pople was forcibly ejected from the church for being “insufficiently repentant” in 1997 and readmitted the following year at his request.. district court judge troy sweeney accepted pople was genuinely remorseful but said he had interfered with his victims’ natural maturing process in a “very destructive way”.“a message must be sent that child abuse is abhorrent and will not be tolerated by any civilised society,” she said.“they were vulnerable because they were young and because you were a church elder and their boss.”.

  when pople admitted assaulting one of the boys during a conversation with an elder in the 1990s, he was told a judicial committee would be formed to deal with the issue.the elders spoke to pople in an apparent attempt to determine his level of remorse and later sent a letter to certain members of the congregation explaining in great detail why he had been ejected.. pople was in his 40s when he assaulted the boys at work, on his yacht and in his shoalwater home.he was close friends with the parents of his first victim and had helped the second victim with his bible studies.. defence lawyer nick scerri told the court pople was candid with the leadership of the church and made “very frank admissions” about some aspects of the offending in 1997.he said his client has been living three lives and was “deeply unhappy” when he assaulted the boys.“he had the life of the family man, the father, the husband,” mr scerri said.

  Excellent!

  More lawsuits, more denouncing, more prison sentences will bring about change, or at the very least will bring about more JWs opening up their eyes to the injustice inside the Org.

  Very happy about this person going to jail; only saddened by the fact that he'll soon be done and re-admitted to the fold if he so chooses. Will probably move far away and re-enter another JW congregation without notice and victimize others.

  Assemblies - Before and After Waking Up

  happy friday to all!.

  i haven't been to a meeting for maybe 10 years.

  i only know what's happening nowadays from the experiences i read here or the internet in general.. anyway, on to the topic: i started attending meetings at the age of 7. as a kid, the only thing i looked forward to at the assemblies (circuit/district) was walking around veteran's stadium (philadelphia district convention) during intermission, hanging with friends, looking at girls (as i got a little older) and trying to have enough tickets to get pizza!.

  Since knowing TTATT All meetings, assemblies included, are viewed as nothing more than a bit of time to spend with family and friends before and after the event. What is said in between sounds like blah, blah, blah.

  Incredible documentary about the exclusive brethren and their extreme shunning policy

  just watched this remarkable documentary about the exclusive brethren here in the uk.

  their shunning policy is remarkably like watchtowers policy except even more extreme.

  its heartbreaking how families are torn apart by such man made policies based on their interpretation of scriptures.

  Unreal. Thought only the WTBTS had these strict shunning policies; guess not! These people are worse.

  When the gentleman at the end said "we believe the rapture is imminent", it reminded me of the daily JW tactics of "Armageddon is imminent, right around the corner". Same bs!!!

  Oh yeah, the big growth is happening within the Spanish countries; the Caribbean islands are exploding with growth, so many KHs need to be built and assembly halls. However, the Spanish youngsters here in the USA are exiting as soon as they safely can because the www is opening their eyes.

  Something isnt quite right.

  l was wondering if others get the feeling that the world we live in seems not quite right.l can not pin point anything specific but since childhood days l often get the feeling something isn;t correct.you know the feeling of deja vu.

  am l the only one to feel this way?ld love to hear from others and any storys they may have.having been raised in the jdubs maybe lm just suffering mild bouts of paranoia .

  I have not been fading; can only dream of doing so some day as my family and close friends are heavily in the JW world and I just cannot afford emotionally to part ways with them.

  My only consolation is that knowing TTATT has helped me in lowering service hrs/quality, meeting attendance and other JW stuff without the guilt usually associated with it. Also, I've recently formed a network inside of kindred trapped spirits and it's easing the JW burden.

  Indoctrination runs deep when JWs that brought me up are so entangled with the WTBTS. The state of mind of waiting for the other shoe to drop is unbearable at times.
